Minnesota Gets A New Christian Station

Radio Works, owner of KZTP/Sibley, IA says the station will flip to CCM this Sunday. KZTP currently is a mainstream CHR (104.3 The Party) that serves the Worthington, MN area. The station will become known as “The Bridge.”

Radio Works VP/GM Chad Cummings says musically the station will be a mix of contemporary Christian and worship/praise music and, as each day progresses, add in a mixture of “alternative” Christian music that includes styles like rock, rap and more.

Cummings says the decision to change to a Christian format came after he “gathered information from a group that he created on Facebook that included some of Radio Works’ programming staff, a representation of Worthington clergy and individuals from local organizations that have ties to ministry.”

KZTP will retain its current PD Barry Roberts.

The new station plans to keep “That local touch, Cummings added, something that’s a critical component of all Radio Works stations.”

“The thing we’ve always focused on is local radio and giving people stuff that they can’t get on Pandora or Spotify — things like local weather, local sports and local news,” he said.
