KWND KWFC Greater Ozarks Turkey Drop

Hundreds of KWND/Springfield (The Wind) and sister station KWFC/Springfield listeners participated in the Greater Ozarks Turkey Drop on Saturday, November 17th. No doubt the concept sounds familiar, and was indeed a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the “Turkeys Away” episode of WKRP in Cincinnati. The Radio Training Network owned stations partnered with Service Oriented Aviation Readiness for the inaugural event, which was held at the Municipal Airport in Bolivar, Missouri.

The event involved the dropping of 500 small, polyurethane foam turkeys from an airplane. Each turkey was good for prizes ranging from station swag to concert tickets, including VIP passes to the Lauren Daigle Christmas tour.
