What does Summer look like in the Twin Cities in 2020?
Like most cities, days are filled with insecurity, discontentment, and instability. Eager to spread God’s love and hope while remaining socially distant, 98.5 KTIS launched “Purple Boxes of Hope”. Each is filled with meaningful gifts to add joy, surprise, and delight amid this pandemic, including tickets for two families, per box, to participate in a private virtual event with Christian Music Artist, Matthew West. These boxes can be seen on doorsteps across our listening area.
What began with over 2,000 listeners entering to win “A BBQ in a Box” for the special dad in their life for Father’s Day, ended with double that amount of entries for those wanting to win 2 “Drive-thru Difference Boxes”: one for each winner and another for each to bless someone else.
By summer’s end there were nearly 15,000 entries, joyful listeners and more hope in the Twin Cities J!
“Lately I’ve been asking God for some “JOY” somewhere in my storm! Today, was not a good day. I came home after caring for my father, which I’ve been doing for 10 years. I crawled into bed, and again, the tears came. Then I learned I won a Box of Hope for a Mom’s Summer Break! “ This is my little bit of joy”! I have no doubt that this was God’s way of saying….’I see you.’ I smiled, got out of bed, and found a little bit of sunshine. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
