KEEH On Top Of Spokane
It’s not the first time, and no doubt won’t be the last. KEEH/Spokane (Shine 104.9) is #1 in the market. In the Nielsen May release (AQH Share for Persons 12+, Mon-Sun 6AM-Mid) KEEH trends 5.2-6.0-6.8. Beating closest mainstream stations KEYF & KXLY.
KEEH went on the air 30 years ago (in 1993) serving the Spokane and Coeur d’ Alene, ID metro market. Within about 10 years, the station received a significant power increase – and at the same time a new tower was approved on a premier hilltop location during a time when the local county had a moratorium on building towers. (A God thing!)
Within the last decade, KEEH was re-branded (as Shine 104.9), to focus more intentionally on localizing to serve communities. During this time, the station partnered with Christian FM – SmartRadio Suite to get the best music research, top-level announcers, and programming.
KEEH GM Darin Patzer who is a native of Spokane told HisAir, “It made our day as a local radio team to see that Shine 104.9/KEEH has hit #1 for the Spokane and Northern Idaho markets, according to Nielsen ratings. Our focus on being locally relevant with our community drives loyalty, while our partnership with the team at Christian FM/Smart Radio Suite provides the reliable excellence of talent and production, and mixed with our local announcers, creates a radio product that allows Christian music to compete with even the biggest radio companies. We try to be quick to give full credit to God, because hard work without His blessing and wisdom, wouldn’t have nearly the same positive results. What a cool way to celebrate our 30th anniversary as a ministry in Spokane!”
