Job Summary: |
The Business Development Director position exists to engage people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread Hope. This position also functions as a liaison between the business community and the radio station and works to develop, maintain, and increase business sponsorships that provide financial support to the ministry.

90% | Outside Sales · Call on area businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations within the listening area to develop additional business relationships, encouraging them to participate in our business advertising/underwriting programs and digital services as marketing tools. · Demonstrate initiative and follow-through to prospect for new business both radio and digital channels. · Provide excellent customer service to maintain and retain our current business advertisers/underwriters providing our available resources to assist with their marketing needs.

5% | Ministry Support and Promotions · Provide Assistance during Support Drives · Provide assistance at station events as needed · Any other duties as assigned |
5% | Demonstrated Faith · Pray for coworkers in team meetings · Lead prayer in large group settings as needed · Pray for donors when called upon to do so · Use Christian principles to work through conflict · Participate in Donor Drives and pray for donors over the phone as needed · Participate in ministry wide Christian Bible studies · Attend regular Hope Huddle/Prayer meetings for prayer and devotions |
Requirements and Qualifications: |
Required Experience:
- High School diploma
- Outside business-to-business sales or quota-based commissioned sales experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Demonstrates strong ability to prospect for new business
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years broadcast media commercial sales or quota-based, commissioned sales experience
- Digital media sales experience
- Radio sales script writing skills
- Radio or Media sales experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of WayFM. Good fit with all teams within the ministry. Upholds WayFM’s ministry in prayer.
