Pillar Media (Colorado) is expanding and launching two new radio stations! To continue our growth, we’re looking for a self-motivated individual who has the capacity to be creative on-air as well as be an essential part of the Programming Team.

 

Experience/What We’re Looking For

The following skills are essential to be successful in this role:

 

  • Excellent computer skills and acumen, particularly with station production, station automation, sales, and traffic software.
  • Strong written, oral and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and working with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills, ability to work as part of a team and professional attitude and appearance are required.
  • Energetic, friendly, and tactful professionalism in communication with a diversity of individuals.
  • Ability and desire to learn and train for new systems, methods, and procedures.
  • Committed team player, also able to work independently.
  • Trustworthy to maintain confidentiality.

 

Responsibilities/Day-to-Day

The primary responsibilities, as part of a multi-location team, will be the consistent creation of daily live and recorded on-air content, and production of audio programming elements and commercial advertisements on Pillar Media stations.

 

On-Air Talent

  • Produce a live show/ shift Monday – Friday consistent with the Pillar Media philosophy of positive and uplifting content aimed at our target demo of Christian Women 25-54.
  • Create a daily (M-F) show for other Pillar Media stations including some local-to-market content.
  • Produce one voice-tracked show/ per week for week-end broadcast on Pillar Media stations.
  • Consistently execute format structure as directed to achieve audience goals for station ratings, commercial and fundraising success.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Control room equipment, station audio computer network and audio editing software.
  • Participate in regular coaching sessions with the Pillar Media Director of Programming Operations and/or the Pillar Media Brand Director.
  • Perform production assignments as directed.
  • Dedicate sufficient time for show prep.
  • Build awareness and support on and off-air of station-directed initiatives; such as donor or client-focused meetings and communication.

 

Events

  • As directed, arrange schedule to attend and participate in station-sponsored events.
  • Meet with sponsor/clients to prepare and present targeted commercial matter.

 

Endorsements/Appearances/Remotes

  • Per instruction, arrange schedule, prepare programming content, and meet with sponsor / client to accomplish endorsement / appearance / remote programming goals.

 

Web/Digital

  • Working under the direction of the Digital Content Department, generate, edit, publish and share daily content (i.e.: original text, images, video) that builds meaningful connections with listeners on the Pillar Media social media platforms.
  • Moderate conversations on the station social media platforms.
  • On a consistent basis, write, edit and publish content on Pillar Media websites.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.

 

Programming Assistant

  • Act as off-air producer for daily on-air programming and programming elements on Pillar Media stations.
  • Assist in maintaining the audio libraries of Pillar Media.
  • Have a working knowledge of the commercial affidavit system for all Pillar Media programming.
  • Produce station commercials and station promos.
  • Complete dubbing and other assigned audio production projects.
  • Maintain expert understanding and technical proficiency of audio editing systems and station automation systems and processes.

 

In addition, this role is responsible for other administrative and clerical functions relevant to the programming operations of Pillar Media stations, including, but not limited to: expertise and in-depth knowledge of station automation software, audio production software, as well as agency/syndication content and advertising.

Taking on additional projects as directed by Station Management and attending mandatory meetings also apply.
