Position: Vice President, Technology & Platform Development

Job Summary:
The VP, Technology and Platform Development performs strategic-level technology services, management, and planning to ensure reliability, resilience, and expandability to meet current and future business needs and organizational goals. Plays the central role in defining and articulating Hope Media Groups platform development strategy and leading the successful execution of that strategy. As part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), this role speaks to the organization’s vision, strategies, and goals, especially in technology, distribution, and engineering. This position is also responsible for mentoring and developing the next-level leaders in this division and provide leadership, vision, and direction for the Engineering and IT departments. The VP role performs business operations functions necessary to run the Technology Division, such as budget leadership, project leadership, presentations, process optimization, and customer relationship leadership for our internal customers. This role is a key strategic partner with our Content Division in leading research and development of new technologies, platforms, and distribution alternatives that focus on the end user and serve our audience.
Essential Functions
·    Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, trust and transparency while ensuring development processes are effective, priorities are clear, resources are managed    closely and that finished products meet the standards of Hope Media Group’s business model, including mission and vision
·    Train and mentor Technology Division staff to provide world-class customer service
·    Provide leadership for project work performed by the Technology Division
·    Mentor and lead next-level leaders as they operate their departments
·    Foster a healthy corporate culture and positive interactions with other departments with a “Your success is my success.” mindset.
·    Lead the Severe Weather Preparedness Team
Strategic Planning
·    Be a thought leader and influencer in the area of re-imagining content distribution and set the direction for Hope Media Group
·    Facilitate technology visioning between executive leadership and staff, vendors, and other resources internal and external to the organization
·    Lead the research and development team and use findings to inform strategic direction
·    Identify potential signal opportunities that align with our overall strategic plan. Present viable recommendations to COO and CEO
·    Establish and provide strategic direction for the Technology Division (IT and Engineering)
·    Contribute to strategic planning as part of the senior leadership team for organizational direction and planning. Provide guidance on information processing, systems and content distribution
·    Identify, recommend, and implement new information technologies and systems to improve company processes and decision-making.
Platform Development and Support
·    Ensure Hope Media Group’s content has the ability to be distributed on all relevant platforms
·    Provide leadership in the area of software development and enterprise architecture
·    Identify emerging distribution platforms. Conduct due diligence to determine appropriate platforms with recommendations to COO
·    Stay up to date on the marketplace, competitive and digital trends, especially as related to digital audio, community engagement, membership and subscription
·    Ensure business continuity to all platforms and maintain the quality and reliability of our content delivery platforms both traditional (radio) and nontraditional (digital, social media, etc.)
·    Consistently identify potential risks to all technology platforms with mitigation plans in place
·    Designs and manages multiple information systems goals and missions that support the organization in productive use of technology tools and solutions
·    Ensure that analytics, user testing and research are fully incorporated to product development efforts
·    Evaluate and implement opportunities to further build audience and impact through deployment of new and emerging content distribution platforms and tools
Department Operations/Admin 
·    Supply technical support of all business and broadcast technologies using internal and external resources
·    Ensure appropriate technology infrastructure that supports the business needs for Hope Media Group
·    Ensure the creation of systems and processes that protect the safety and security of our equipment, data, and information systems
·    Ensure compliance with applicable FCC and FAA regulations
·    Ensure data security and compliance with PCI, GDPR and other similar data security/personal privacy regulations
·    Plan and execute major projects on time and within budget
·    Perform financial planning and budget management
·    Attend Board Meetings, as required, providing input on signal strategy and digital content delivery strategy
Demonstrated Faith
·    Pray for coworkers in team meetings
·    Lead prayer in large group settings as needed
·    Pray for donors when called upon to do so
·    Use Christian principles to work through conflict as outlined by the Culture tool kit
·    Participate in Sharathon, PowerDrive, and Thankathon, and pray for donors over the phone as needed
·    Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies
·    Attend weekly Staff Gatherings for prayer and devotions

Non-Essential Functions
·    Provide backup and assistance to other members of Technology division
·    Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Broadcast/Electrical Engineering, or Broadcast/Communication Technology is preferred.  Related degrees, appropriate experience, or other technical training such as military tech schools will be considered.

·    15 years’ experience in broadcast engineering /information technology/platform distribution in the broadcast media industry
·    8 to 10 years’ experience leading and managing a high performing content distribution team with a proven track record in building innovative solutions
·    Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to seek help and build trust with staff and other stakeholders
·    Experience leading teams and gaining alignment and buy in from team members
·    The ability to translate listener feedback and data into product development and clear KPI’s
·    An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, make things happen and drive projects to successful completion
·    Professional Certifications such as SBE or Cisco for example are a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities
Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department. Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.
