Donor Appreciation Specialist-Bilingual

 Job Summary

The Donor Appreciation Specialist connects with donors via phone, email, correspondence and events across all brands to achieve annual giving goals and to drive engagement and support of HMG’s mission.  This person actively works to create meaningful interactions with current and lapsed donors for cultivation, gift solicitation, and essential stewardship. The Donor Appreciation Specialist displays care for HMG donors’ spiritual needs and prays with them as needed.

** Must be fluent in both English and Spanish language for both verbal and written communications. **

Essential Functions

Donor Outreach

  • Engages, shepherds, and solicits a portfolio of assigned donors
  • Calls donors from specified lists or queries for the purposes of donor ministry and increased revenue
  • Communicates with donors the uses, benefits and impact of charitable giving
  • Records all donor communication and interactions in detail in CRM
  • Updates CRM with complete donor information
  • Responds to and resolve donor requests and inquiries promptly, documenting matters and response in CRM
  • Mails or emails donor literature, campaign information and handwritten notes
  • Refers unassigned donors with qualifying giving history or estimated gift capacity to appropriate stewardship leader

Relationship Building

  • Strategically plans and executes activities to steward and solicit donors, including calls, notes, personal email messages, letters, events and other activities
  • Lifts giving amount and giving frequency of donors
  • Requests referrals for potential new donors from donors
  • Identifies specific donor interests and deepen their connection with Hope Media Group brands
  • Asks to pray with callers on the phone when appropriate

Teamsmanship

  • Performs active role in pledge drives and other development campaigns
  • Support and serve the Donor Development team and/or other departments in responding to donor requests and needs
  • Steward CRM software donor data accurately/completely
  • Meet/exceed quarterly goals/metrics along with one-year goals
  • Accomplishes key performance metrics as established by stewardship leaders
  • Additional duties as assigned

Demonstrated Faith

  • Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, spiritually grounded and biblically literate
  • Comfortable Praying for coworkers in team meetings, leading spoken prayer and participating in ministry prayer meetings and bible studies.
  • Live by the Christian principles as defined by the ministry Statement of Faith
  • Participate in pledge drives and pray for donors as needed
  • Passion for leveraging the platform of radio for evangelism and discipleship
  • Exhibits strong moral character
  • Active member of a Bible believing local church

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Associates Degree or equivalent work history

Experience 

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel & Teams. Proficiency with Allegiance.  Ability to be trained on Microsoft Dynamics, WAVE, Charity Engine, Virtuous and Raise Donors.
  • In-depth attention to detail regarding data entry and numerical accuracy, with a focus on data analysis and data integrity
  • Able and willing to sit and make outbound phone calls over several hours
  • Prioritizes and switches tasks to achieve objectives within a fluctuating workload
  • High level of organization and time management in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Clearly communicates both verbally and in writing with constituents and corporate partners by telephone, e-mail, and in person
  • Works with minimal supervision, both independently and within a team; must demonstrate initiative
  • Listens and quickly picks up on verbal/tonal cues
  • Sound understanding of the theology of fundraising
  • Shows initiative and consistently hungers for continuous improvement
  • Discerns and elicits the interests and concerns of others, meeting needs and discovering ways to improve engagement with donors
  • Demonstrates strong moral, ethical and relational skills
  • Desires and shows willingness to pray for others
  • Identifies priorities and manages time to achieve goals
  • Ready to pray for others with no preparation
  • May require flexibility in work schedules
  •  Must be fluent in both English and Spanish language for both verbal and written communications.

Travel

  • Local travel as needed

Nights/Weekends/Holidays

  • Occasional as event planner/participant.
  • Occasional for conferences or retreats.

Physical activity that includes sitting, talking, expressing/exchanging ideas verbally. Repetitive motions include reading, writing, typing on a keyboard and talking.  Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands. Occasional travel by car as required.

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work, does required to have strong visual acuity.
