Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) says it is prepared to establish a Christian radio station in Pyongyang and begin missionary work if North Korea opens its doors.
Chairman Pastor Billy Kim made the announcement during a press conference marking FEBC’s 70th anniversary, saying the broadcaster already has personnel and funding in place. FEBC also operates the Far East Academy, which trains North Korean defectors and others for future missionary work in North Korea.
Founded in 1956, FEBC currently operates two AM stations, 13 FM stations and 14 relay stations. Following its 2001 merger with Asia Broadcasting Station, the ministry expanded broadcasts targeting North Korea, China, Russia, Mongolia and other areas.

The team behind the upcoming faith-based feature film RESCUED will launch a new human trafficking awareness initiative in January 2027, providing Christian radio stations with a series of free, family-friendly radio spots designed to educate listeners about the realities of human trafficking and encourage meaningful action.
The awareness messages will be voiced by Kristoffer Polaha, lead actor in RESCUED, and will be made available to radio stations through AMBOS.
Created specifically with families and Christian radio audiences in mind, the short-form messages will approach the difficult subject of human trafficking in a way that is informative, responsible, and appropriate for listeners of all ages. Rather than focusing on graphic details, the campaign will help listeners better understand warning signs, recognize vulnerabilities, and discover practical ways they can become part of protecting children and strengthening their communities.
Each :60-second radio spot will direct listeners to a dedicated online resource page connected with RESCUED. The page will provide free downloadable resources that individuals, parents, churches, families, and community leaders can use to learn more about human trafficking and begin conversations in their own homes and communities.
The January campaign is part of the larger mission surrounding RESCUED — using the power of story to move audiences beyond awareness and toward action.
“We don’t simply want people to watch a movie and walk away,” the RESCUED team said. “We want this story to become a catalyst for conversations in homes, churches, radio communities, and cities across the country. These radio spots are one way we can give people practical tools to recognize what is happening around them and understand that every one of us can play a role in bringing hope.”
The initiative also gives Christian radio stations an opportunity to address Human Trafficking Awareness Month with professionally produced content that can easily be incorporated into regular programming throughout January.
Stations will be able to access the spots through AMBOS, making it simple for broadcasters across the country to participate in the campaign. Additional promotional information and links to the listener resource page will be provided as the January launch approaches.
