New Life Radio/Russia (NLR) is under more pressure after a law signed by Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky at the beginning of July bans Russian language music in television and radio. This is a new obstacle to the NLR ministry that airs programs is based around Bible teaching in Russian language, serving audiences both in Russia and Ukraine. The NLR team includes members of both nations and says it as an “error in judgement” to ban music in Russian language in Ukraine.
New Life Radio left Moscow in 2019 and is currently based in the warzone city of Odessa (south of Ukraine) because of the restrictions implemented by the Russian government.
“Now the station is threated more critically by the Ukrainian government that has taken actions against freedom of the press and religion”, NLR says, adding that the recently approved law is “revealing a general error in judgment by the government of Ukraine”.
