Industry News Bits Wed 4-7-21

Jeremy Louis has been upped to APD at KLJY/St Louis (Joy FM) and KXBS/St Louis (BOOST Radio). Jeremy will also handle the MD role for JOY FM.

Jeremy told HisAir today, “It’s an honor to be called on the fill this role. Bobbi has done a tremendous job and deserves much praise. I’m really looking forward to the opportunities ahead to continue to encourage and unite our community while pointing people to true life change found in Christ. Huge thanks to Mike and Sandi for their leadership and confidence in my abilities.”

The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that President/CEO Gordon Smith will step down and transition to an advisory and advocacy role at the end of 2021.


At Salem’s WYLL/Chicago (AM 1160) Aubrey Sampson joins The Common Good afternoon program.

“To have such a gifted communicator like Aubrey join ‘The Common Good’ is an incredible score for AM 1160,” said Jeff Reisman, Regional VP/GM. “She brings a fresh perspective and an important voice to many of the issues that are close to the hearts of our listeners. Both Aubrey and Brian have deep ties to the community through their churches, and we look forward to hearing the connection they’ll make with our audience.”

Sampson takes over for Ian Simkins who left the program to pastor a church in Nashville.


Tonga Christian Radio is making progress with their new facility. The work on the roof (stage one) is complete and stage two is underway (foundation) is underway. The third stage will be the cutting of the container.

On the Singing News Top 20 Weekly Countdown with Greg Goodman this weekends show features a celebration of the 50th anniversary of “Because He Lives” from Bill and Gloria Gaither and remembering Aaron Wilburn.
