Educational Media Foundation has closed on its purchase of KZGO/St Paul & KQGO/Minneapolis from Northern Lights Broadcasting for an undisclosed price. The stations are Hip Hop KZGO (Class 900 watts 1726 feet at 95.3) and Alternative KQGO (Class C 19kw 1168 feet at 96.3). The stations are expected to air KLOVE and Air1.
WKJH-LP/Bryan, OH was handed a $3500 fine from the FCC. The FCC says owners Lighthouse Ministries of Northwest Ohio, failed to file a timely license renewal application for the station. The commission said Lighthouse also willfully and repeatedly violated the Communications Act by continuing to operate the station even after its authorization expired.
WYPH-LP/Manchester, CT (Y102.5) GM/PD Bill Grimmeisen checks in with HisAir. WYPH has been off the air since April 2020 after the FCC directed they go dark. This is due to a complaint filed by 102.9 WDRC/Hartford (The Whale) for alleging WYPH was causing interference. Bill tells HisAir he hopes “a resolution” is coming soon enabling WYPH to return to the air.
WYPH-LP is owned by New River Community Church and went on the air initially in 2014.
Former KCBI/Dallas PD Joel Burke (Baylor Bears FAN) was interviewed in Waco at the National Championship title parade.
