St Louis Public Radio reports KDHX/St Louis (88.1) has named K-LOVE as its principal creditor during its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. According to court filings, K-LOVE, which operates over 500 radio stations in the U.S., is the proposed debtor-in-possession (DIP) lender for KDHX. This status allows K-LOVE to loan funds to KDHX for continued operations and gives it priority for repayment. The arrangement requires approval from other creditors and a bankruptcy court judge.
KDHX enters bankruptcy with over $1 million in financial liabilities. Its largest debt is a $120,000 construction loan to Mark Hamlin of Lake Ozark, Missouri. The second-largest creditor is AHL Consulting, a PR firm representing KDHX since 2023. Six of the largest creditors are staff members, including Executive Director Kelly Wells, who is owed $73,381.

Former WKNZ/Milford (The Bridge) GM/mornings Bill Sammons has started writing his 2nd book.
Bill wrote on social media, “It’s a true story about a song that led its writer to fame, and later a clandestine trip to Moscow involving KGB, Mossad, Uzi’s, Refusnik’s, a gulag in Siberia, and much more – culminating at the Western Wall in Jerusalem and a simple rolled up prayer. The song is ancient and special, and this story will blow your mind.”
Bill retired from broadcasting and his full-time role with the station in January 1, 2024.
