On the island nation of Sri Lanka, “radio homes” are allowing people to grow in their faith, and their churches are being strengthened. TWR Lanka provides media players loaded with sound biblical teaching for the groups, which typically consist of five to eight people. The players supplement the work of the local church, said Clay Perry, a TWR videographer, who recently visited the island along with his colleague Alex Lemus.
Daryl Renshaw, TWR vice president for Asia, said that after two years, local sponsors, including churches, are expected to sustain the radio homes.
The groups help expand awareness about TWR Lanka’s broadcast programs and provide essential feedback, Renshaw said. The radio homes are birthed in collaboration between TWR Lanka and local churches, where they exist, and the groups connect participants to churches for shepherding.
