Spring Fundraisers this week.. Christian FM.. WHIF/Palatka

New Life Radio Russia founder Daniel Johnson checks in with HisAir today. Daniel says, “Hi Ted, we’re in the midst of dealing with Odessa. The city is surrounded by the Russians, fighting, and our station is still on the air, but for how long, we don’t know. currently trying to get some of our equipment out of the station and on the road up to the border with Romania where we are setting up a remote broadcast site.”

UPDATE: NLR station manager Ivan Zhurakovski and staffer Eva are now in IASI, Romania to set up a remote radio broadcast operation there. They have a 3 month permission to stay in Romania. Today they are seeking to rent two apartments, one for the family and one for our studios (we ask friends in the USA to consider helping with this expense). Our radio engineer YURI remains at the station in Odessa to oversee our broadcast transmission and will continue on unless stopped. Also today we are making plans to take portions of our station equipment out of our University building to safeguard in case our studios are shelled or destroyed. Ivan is attempting to liaison with an Italian aid worker in IASI going to Odessa who might be able to bring additional radio equipment back to IASI. Christian Radio for Russia is asking Christians in America to pray for peace between Russia and Ukraine and for the protection of our radio operations center in Odessa during this difficult time. Pray that our studio building might be spared, so we can continue in our present space when the war stops.

New Life Radio moved to Odessa, Ukraine, several years ago in response to increasingly restrictive Russian laws. The station operated in Russia for over 20 years.

A response team from Convoy of Hope’s global headquarters is now on the ground in Poland. Within minutes of arriving, the team witnessed thousands of refugees — primarily women and children — dragging luggage and seeking shelter. Simple needs, such as electricity for charging phones and the ability to stay warm are incredibly difficult to find. Many children seem dazed. More HERE
