WMIT/Asheville (The Light FM) afternoon host Brenda Price announces she is going back to college full-time.
Brenda says, “I am almost 50 and heading back to college online to get a Biblical Studies degree. With God anything is possible! Stay focused on Jesus!! He will give you the strength you need in all things!”
Brenda joined WMIT in Oct 2021 to host the afternoon show, airing weekdays from 3-7pm. She previously was on the air evenings at WAWZ/NYC (Star 99.1) and EMF’s Air 1.
WMIT Managing Director of Programming & Content Tim ‘Doc’ Maranville is looking for a new PM drive host. Check the listing HERE.
WPOZ/Orlando (Z88.3) is in “Hurricane Mode” as “Nicole” hits the area.
WPOZ President Jim Hoge tells HisAir, “All generators are checked and fueled. 2,500 gallons on hand in the tank. We lock down the staff. Two announcers on air 24/7. Lots of food. Lots of fun. The public is served and God is glorified.”
Hurricane Ian came through the Orlando area just two weeks before the WPOZ fall fundraiser last week. Hoge’s philosophy hasn’t changed over the years – Christian radio has to be available (on the air), present and cool with accurate information. This gave Christian radio its first #1 book in 2004. And since then, nothing has changed.
On-line station New Journey Radio Network has been recognized by the industry recently. SGN Scoops Magazine gave the (Diamond Award) for “Internet Station of the Year” and Christian Voice Magazine gave the “Favorite Radio Station of the Year.”
Station founder Bobby Richardson tells HisAir, “New Journey Radio started February 2017 as a hobby. It’s kinda humorous how it all happened. We had recently resigned as pastors of our home church in Columbus, MS and moved to Florida (in our RV) to be with my mom due to her health issues. While we were there, my wife Amy continued to work from home (the RV).”
“I must have been in the way because one day Amy said, “you need to find something to do.” With that being said, I’ll shorten the story a little. I didn’t know she was doing this, but one evening she asked me what I thought about internet radio. Knowing that I have worked in radio for several years, she took upon herself to start the “internet radio” ball rolling by getting some necessary software to start, free of course. From there New Journey Radio started. February of 2023 will be 6 years for New Journey Radio. The station has been nominated 4 years in a row for Best/favorite radio station in several media outlets. Just being nominated and listed among some great stations is quite an honor. New Journey Radio has a wonderful team of on air personalities ranging from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Indiana.
New Journey Radio can be found online at www.newjourneyradio.com. The New Journey Radio app can be downloaded for free from Google play or the apple store. NJR Digital is New Journey Radio’s digital magazine launched earlier this year.
Christian Radio host Brant Hansen’s first book, Unoffendable, has sold more than 200,000 copies and is being repackaged and re-released by HarperCollins in a revised and expanded edition.
HarperCollins is also releasing an Unoffendable video study for church small groups, businesses, and ministries.
Brant told HisAir, “I don’t really prefer video, but they set it up in a comedy club-type setting with real people, and that really helped. I do think it will spark some amazing conversations, because this topic continues to be so darn relevant.”
Pre order the new book or study at unoffendablebook.com. And here’s a look at the TRAILER.
