WTJZ/Norfolk (Praise 94.9) has ceased operations and signed off the air today. The FCC ordered a mandate to owner Delmarva Educational Association to move its tower location which the company was unable to perform due to financial challenges. Delmarva says the negotiated with the FCC for an extension but were unable to reach agreement. Details on a decision to sell the station will be released in the near future.
All staff was terminated included 5 year Program Director / morning host Ju Joyner. He is looking for new opportunities and can be reached at JuJoyner@gmail.com.

After over 11 years at KXOJ/Tulsa as Music Director/Afternoon host Gary Thompson, announced today he is leaving the station. This morning with morning KXOJ hosts Dave & Katie, Gary said, “I’m stepping out to move to Houston. I will miss you, KXOJ Fam. You’ve been true family in every sense of the word. Via Con Dios & we go where God calls. I love you.”
Gary will be joining Hope Media Group as Director of Production & Audio Ministry for HMG stations KSBJ/Houston/WayFM/NGEN/Spanish Vida Unida and Worship 24-7. The official announcement is coming soon.
Gary’s Christian Radio experience includes his first time with KXOJ in 1993, KCFO/Tulsa, WCVO/Columbus, KKOW/Joplin and WJQK/Grand Rapids in 2007.

Ashley Owen has joined KNWS/Waterloo (Life 101.9) as APD / On Air duties. She is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University where she studied Multimedia Communications.
