Fall Fundraisers:
–WCVK/Bowling Green, KY (Christian Family Radio) hit their pledge drive goal three hours early on Friday, September 24, 2021. CFR PD Derek Gregory tells HisAir, “The fundraiser saw a large number of new donors. The remaining time of the drive focused on replacing the station’s two HVAC systems. More than $5,000 came toward the $18,000 upgrade. HVAC replacement tends to be initially more expensive than repair! But rather than spending money on continual repairs that might extend the life of the units just a few more months, Christian Family Radio wants to be the best stewards of listener donations by replacing the units with ones that will operate more efficiently.”
–The Joy FM hit 100% of their goal for sharathon Friday afternoon. Almost $3 million raised in less than 4 days.
–KCBI/Dallas reached 128% of goal.
-KJIL & KHYM/Meade, KS (Great Plains Christian Radio) had a successful fall fundraiser. KJIL PD Patrick Green tells HisAir, “Our theme was “Give Hope” and not only did listeners exceed the goal by 103%, they also finished 3 hours earlier than planned.”
-On-line station Clear Hits Radio had its first fundraiser and met its goal. Caleb Williams says, “God is so good. Not only did you all (listeners) step up and meet the $5,000 dollar for dollar challenge, but you also helped us reach our goal of $10,000!!!”
-At KTIS/Minneapolis the fundraising goal was smashed (Notice that amount came in during ONE HOUR!) I’m grateful to have been able to work along side this amazing team this week.

Houston’s Christian Oldies Station KLJJ celebrates 5 Years on the air.
The station is in Spring, TX, just a little north of Houston, a Low-Power FM (LPFM) 100 watts at 101.5. KLJJ definitely will never blanket the entire Houston area but does a decent job of coverage to the north including The Woodlands and Conroe Texas. “We are getting out about a 25 mile radius”, says General Manager Mark Green.
The LPFM business is fairly new, and the FCC and Congress are still working out the kinks. There’s a bill under consideration that would increase the permissible transmission power of a LPFM station to 250 watts, which would put KLJJ stronger into North Houston.
Frank Forte rejoins WAWZ/New York (Star 99.1) for fill in air shifts. Frank was with the station 17 years, from 2004 until this past July (2021) and left due to budget reasons.
KeepTheFaith co-host Donna Cruz will join mainstream Country KBEY/Marble Falls, TX as morning personality. KBEY PD is former KCBI/Dallas PD Joel Burke who says Donna will do the show remotely from her home studio and her start date is October 11.
The LifeFM Networks Rodney and Reagan Baucom are broadcasting their morning show from the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge this week.
