KEEH/Spokane (Shine 104.9) held ShineFest 2026, but the event ended up being changed because of area fires and smoke.
The original ShineFest was planned for August 7, 2026 at Riverfront Park. Because of fire/smoke conditions, Shine 104.9 split the event into two nights. The August 7 event featured Terrian and The Afters. The rescheduled main ShineFest took place Friday with Colton Dixon, Jon Micah Sumrall of Kutless, Mountains in the Sea, and Riley Anderson.
It was a listener-appreciation Worship in the Park concert, non-ticketed with a suggested donation. The August 28 schedule included kids activities followed by music into the evening.
This was the follow-up to a very successful 2025 ShineFest, when KEEH reported more than 6,000 people attended. Station manager Darin Patzer described the event’s purpose as glorifying Jesus and bringing Christians from different denominations together. Pictured below is the KEEH staff.
Rev. Billy Burrell, a beloved north Georgia radio personality, died Wednesday at age 96. For 71 years, Burrell hosted the gospel devotional program “Sunshine Melodies” on WCON/Cornelia, GA where he also served as a morning host until retiring in 2022.
Friends of Georgia Radio says “Sunshine Melodies” is believed to be the longest-running weekday radio program in North America hosted by the same person. Burrell’s voice became a familiar part of daily life for generations of listeners across the north Georgia mountains.
