Inside Radio reports: Edison Research’s latest Share of Ear data shows AM/FM radio remains the clear leader in ad-supported in-car audio among Americans ages 13-34. Young Americans spend nearly an hour per day listening to audio in the car, with 63% of that time going to ad-supported platforms. AM/FM radio captures 70% of that ad-supported listening, far ahead of podcasts at 11% and streaming music at 10%.
“AM/FM Radio is the way for advertisers to reach the youngest consumers in the car,” Edison said.

Former Hope Media Group president Tim Dukes, has joined Collective Heads, a media consulting, fractional management and marketing group, as a partner. In May this year Dukes told HisAir he would exit his position at HMG at the end of June and become a senior advisor and continue to work on HMG projects to support HMG CEO Joe Paulo.
Dukes most recently served as president of Hope Media Group following his role as the company’s chief operating officer, which he took on in 2022 following Way Media’s merger with Hope Media Group. He also served as Way Media’s COO and interim CEO beginning in 2021. He joined Christian radio in 2015 as general manager of WayFM when the outlet launched in Dallas-Fort Worth, later taking regional responsibilities for its stations in Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and Indiana. From 2011 to 2015, Dukes served as chief operating officer of the Halftime Institute, a faith-based nonprofit in Dallas.
Before entering Christian media and nonprofit leadership, Dukes spent 24 years in radio programming and on-air roles at legendary major-market stations, WLUP/Chicago, 96rock/Atlanta, KGB and KIOZ/San Diego, WEBN/Cincinnati, The Power Pig/Tampa and Y107/Nashville.
“I’m honored to join the group at Collective Heads who are among the best programmers I’ve collaborated with and/or competed against in my 30+ year management career”, said Dukes. “Given my Contemporary Christian experience these last 11 years, it will be a great joy to continue working with people in that format so they can also benefit from the tremendous think tank of Tim Richards, Jimmy Steal, Jim Lawson, and Joe Lindsay to advance their stations in reach, impact, and revenue.”
Tim Richards, founder and managing partner of Collective Heads added, “We are beyond excited to have Tim join the Collective Heads team. I’ve known him for decades and have admired his career for as long as I’ve been in the business. He is a world-class executive, programmer, marketer, and most importantly, a great person.
The strength of the collective is the many skill sets we all bring to the table, and Tim joining this team dramatically elevates every aspect of our endeavor. “

The KGGN/Hemet, CA (The Vine FM) inaugural “A Book of Their Own” community book drive raised enough to donate more than 1,400 brand-new children’s books through the Rose Again Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting foster children and families throughout the region. The goal was simple: provide children in foster care with a brand-new book they could call their own, offering a small but meaningful reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
Books were collected through The Vine FM’s Story Stops and participating Book Drop locations throughout Southwest Riverside County.
“Over 1,400 brand-new books is an incredible response from our community,” said Chris Thompson, General Manager of The Vine FM. “We hoped this campaign would make a difference, but watching our listeners and local businesses embrace it has been incredibly encouraging. Every one of these books represents a child who will receive something brand-new that belongs to them. We are so grateful to everyone who gave.”
The collected books will now be distributed through the Rose Again Foundation to foster children in the local community.
“This campaign reminded us that sometimes making a difference starts with something as simple as a book,” said Thompson. “One story, one child, one act of kindness at a time, our community can bring hope.”

Moody Radio program Bold Steps is celebrating their 2,000th program. The program has been in production for 7 years.
Bold Steps host Mark Jobe says, “I continue to be amazed by the incredible stories we hear from people listening in their homes and cars, to men and women in prisons, to listeners across the United States and those listening in small villages in African nations. I’m grateful for the talented team I been able to work with; Wayne Shepherd, Steve Wick, Merl St. James, Jason Medrano, Judy Kron, and the many others who faithfully work behind the scenes to make this ministry possible.
