Salem Media Group announced several changes to the leadership structure of their Broadcast Media division which will take place at the beginning of 2023.
Allen Power (at left) will assume the role as President, Broadcast Media. Salem’s CEO, David Santrella, said, “Allen Power and I have worked and collaborated closely for 18 of my 21 years with Salem. His keen operational experience combined with his strong hand of leadership provide a perfect combination to build a better future for the broadcast division.”
Power commented, “My years with Salem have been the most rewarding of my career so far. Our dual focus on doing well while doing good provides a culture unique in media. I’m grateful for the leadership of our founders Edward Atsinger and Stuart Epperson, and grateful to Dave Santrella and David Evans for the opportunity to play this role as our company continues to grow as a multimedia platform.”
In other leadership advancements, Linnae Young is being promoted from Senior Vice President, Operations to Executive Vice President, Operations and Revenue Development. In Young’s new expanded role, she will work across Salem’s broadcast and digital platform to grow the company’s 360-degree approach for our marketing and ministry partners. Santrella said, “Linnae has been my go-to person every time we’ve had an opportunity to sell multiple marketing elements from several divisions to new clients. Her work in our industry on Salem’s behalf with many clients made this an easy decision for me. Linnae brings out the very best from those she works with, and I look forward to seeing her touch across the entire division.”
Regional Vice President and Chicago General Manager Jeff Reisman advances to Senior Vice President, Operations, overseeing the radio markets on the eastern side of the country. Santrella commented, “Allen and I have worked closely with Jeff for many years. His track record in Chicago speaks for itself. He was the first building block to what is now Salem Surround, our digital marketing agency.”
Regarding these promotions Santrella commented, “I would point out that these three promotions are all from within our Salem team which is further proof that Salem appreciates and believes in our employees and rewards hard work and success.”
KJTH/Oklahoma City (The House FM) completed its fall fundraising goal at 101% with Vidare Creative. The House FM serves central Oklahoma and is owned by The Love Station, Inc.
“It’s been an uncertain year for so many, but The House FM listeners made last month the largest August of giving in ministry history, leading to a successful fall fundraiser where the goal was met right on time,” says The House FM CEO Tony Weir (at left). “Our small staff did an amazing job through this season and we are very thankful for our partnership with Vidare Creative and their guidance in our fundraising efforts,” Weir Says
“The House FM has an amazing team,” says Bill Scott, chief client officer at Vidare Creative. “In their season of growth, it’s amazing to see The House FM hit 101% of their fall fundraising goal,” Scott says.
KSWP/KAVX/Lufkin just completed another successful fundraiser. Listeners pledged and gave $129,345 to meet the critical funding need for the fall.

The world and our devices may say we are “connected” but the truth is more people are afraid, lonely, and depressed which is why the mission of local Christian Radio is so critical” stated station President, Michelle Ross.
Red Street Records announces that label co-founder, songwriter, and producer Don Koch has received another GMA Dove Award nomination. Koch is recognized for writing “Child Of The King,” which he co-wrote with Dave Clark and Joseph Hadebank, who also recorded the song, nominated for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for the upcoming 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards.
In his illustrious career, Koch has won six GMA Dove Awards: Song Of The Year (1994, “In Christ Alone”), Inspirational Recorded Song Of The Year (1993 and 2006, “In Christ Alone”; 1999, “Adonai”), and Inspirational Album Of The Year (1994’s The Season Of Love by 4Him; 1993’s Generation To Generation by Benson Family of Artists).
Don Koch shares, “I am very excited to be nominated alongside two other amazing songwriters, Dave Clark and Joseph Habedank. It is an honor to share this nomination with them.”
While Don Koch currently serves as Executive VP of Creative (A&R/Publishing) at Red Street Records, which he co-founded with Jay DeMarcus, he is currently fighting a battle against cancer. Koch was celebrated last month for his 36+ years of work in the industry at a benefit held in his honor at The Bluebird Cafe. Artists such as Charles Billingsley, Greg Long, Jody McBrayer, and many others attended to share their fondest Don Koch songs and stories
Dr. Mark Shrime has been appointed International Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Ships. Dr. Shrime has been a volunteer with Mercy Ships since 2008.
The Association of Christian Communicators and Media (ACCM), which will be officially launched next month in Kingston, Jamaica. The ACCM will be a body of professional communicators, who are Christians, working in the traditional secular and religious media, social media, public and private agencies and in the Judeo-Christian Church, according to a press release by the association. The mission of the ACCM is to support and expand the gospel of Jesus Christ through various networks and engagements.
A number of Christian media owners, media workers, bloggers, public relations specialists and communicators have joined forces to form a consortium in the communications business spanning the Caribbean and the Americas.
The ACCM will be officially launched on Sunday October 2, 2022 in a special broadcast to be aired locally and regionally on the MTM TV platform.
Spring Arbor University (SAU Radio) PD/MD Glenn Goodwin checks in with HisAir. In an effort to help the Record Labels & Radio Promoters get coordinated info from Non-Reporting Station Glen has developed a new centralized way to get that helpful add info to the labels.
Glenn Goodwin (SAU Radio PD/MD) says: ‘We believe this will be a helpful tool for smaller stations and those that are non-reporting; and will be beneficial for the labels, artists, and the stations! We have received only positive feedback from the labels & promoters, and look forward to helping our industry stay even better connected in this way!’
Just launched, there are seven stations out of the gate that are part of the group, and they are looking forward to adding many more.
Participating stations can simply submit weekly adds and the info will be compiled and sent to all the Christian Labels & Promoters with the list of corresponding info from the submitting stations.
