For the second year in a row, KNEO/Neosho, MO (The Word) won first place as well as runner-up this year in the Public Affairs Program of the Year category from the Missouri Broadcasters Association. The two winning entries were from the Neosho High School Drive-Thru Graduation broadcast and the COVID-19 Roundtable discussion with local community leaders.
WQRM/Duluth (AM 850) was heavily damaged by fire over the weekend. The Duluth Fire Dept is investigating the fire that caused more than half a million dollars worth of damage to the station. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire located in a one-story equipment building that is attached to the station’s two-story main building.
The equipment building had three transmitters in it and all were destroyed in the fire. Damage in equipment alone is estimated at over $500,000. Damage costs to the structure are estimated to be around $75,000. No injuries were reported.
Jake Moore starts his new position today as production director at KLJY/St Louis (Joy FM) & KXBS/St Louis (BOOST RADIO). Jake still hosts afternoons on RadioU/Columbus. Formerly Jake was with Relevant Radio/Green Bay and Shine.FM/Chicago.

Nominees for the 32nd Annual IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards were announced and Family Music Group artist, Mark Wheeler, of the Marksmen Quartet, received two nominations for the song he penned, “In the Resurrection Morning.” The song was nominated for Gospel Recording of the Year and Collaborative Recording of the Year.
