WCVK/Bowling Green (Christian Family Radio) has hired Larry Castro as the stations new assistant program director.

Most recently Larry was with KSBJ/Houston as Mentoring Manager and APD at NGEN/Houston.

Christian Family Radio operates three stations (WCVK Bowling Green, KY; WJVK Owensboro, KY; WZVK Glasgow, KY) with studios in Bowling Green.

At the NAGR (National Association of Gospel Radio) Midwest Regional Summit in Cincinnati held last Friday & Saturday national leaders from our association presented three prestigious awards:
Radio Veteran Award presented to P. Ann Everson-Price, the ‘Queen of Gospel Radio’ in Cincinnati, OH, celebrating her 40+ years on air, currently at WGRI Radio 1050 AM / 103.1 FM. Trailblazer Award presented to Lamar Campbell, a national gospel musician with 35+ years in the industry and nine albums, six of which charted on the Billboard Gospel charts. His work includes releases with Tyscot, EMI Gospel, Alliant, NuSpring, and Soul Stride. Presidential Cup presented to Tracey Artis for her extensive contributions to gospel music since 1996. Her roles have included marketing, management, and radio tracking, as well as serving as Vice President of Gospo Centric Records and Sony Gospel before founding I Hear Music Inc. in 2010. Her efforts have propelled the success of numerous gospel artists, achieving Gold and Platinum certifications and numerous awards.


Australian Christian Records is a new Christian label, based in Adelaide, South Australia. 

Aaron Duff  tells HisAir, “We are a new pop/EDM label based in Adelaide and we’re all about getting behind emerging Aussie Christian artists who wear their faith on their sleeves and make next-level, radio-friendly music.”


Vision Christian Radio has put a new station in Yarrabah, Queensland on the air. This is Vision’s 85th radio station out of the 100 stations 2021-2023 project and the 824th station overall.


Inside Radio’s monthly analysis of Nielsen PPM cross-market average quarter-hour share data, covering Monday-Sunday from 6am to midnight, shows promising trends for Contemporary Christian Music (CCM). Comparing data from January to April of 2022 with the first four months of 2023 and 2024, the format has seen consistent growth across all four key demographics. Among persons aged 18-34, CCM’s share increased nearly a full point (2.3-2.8-3.2). For those aged 25-54, the share rose by 0.7 points (2.7-3.1-3.4). Additionally, the 18-49 demographic experienced a 0.6 point increase, matching the overall 6+ group’s rise (2.7-3.0-3.3).

Christian Radio Business – WTBD/Delhi, NY (97.5) and simulcasts WIYN/Deposit, NY (94.7) and WDHI Delhi/Oneonta (100.3) will be sold to Family Life Ministries of Bath, NY for $150,000. 


HisAir is sorry to learn of the passing of Australian broadcaster Richard Daniel. In 2002 Richard joined the Christian International Shortwave Radio facility called Voice International which was owned by Christian Vision. Richard was also an announcer at Salt FM on the Sunshine Coast.

Richard was Partnership Director CV Global Network Ltd, and a member of the CMAA Board. Please join with us in prayer for his wife Julie, their children and grandchildren as they grieve this sudden loss.


HisAir NEWS FLASHBACK – May 19, 2017 -KZTH/OKC (The House) morning host Josh Evans announced he has accepted the afternoon drive position at WCVO/Columbus (104.9 The River). His start date is not know at this time. Josh joined The house in December 2015 after a stint as Community Impact Director with WAYF/West Palm Beach.
