Family Radio announced that Ron Harrell will serve the network as Music Director, effective immediately. Harrell brings decades of experience in music programming, brand leadership, and content strategy across both ministry and major-market radio. His background includes senior programming and brand roles with WAY Media / Hope Media Group, Hubbard Broadcasting, CBS Radio, and Cumulus Media. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Branding and Storytelling at Lipscomb University in Nashville and will continue his work through Harrell Media Group, his Nashville-based consultancy.

As Music Director, Harrell will help guide the curation and stewardship of music across Family Radio and its four online channels, with an emphasis on consistency, theological integrity, and clear sonic identity across platforms.
“Ron brings a rare blend of experience, musical judgment, and ministry awareness that fits Family Radio perfectly right now,” said Doug Hannah, Senior Director of Content. “His leadership will help us elevate our sound without losing what makes this ministry distinctive.”

2 new internet radio stations were launched by Churches over the weekend in the US both powered by Godcaster. The new stations originate at HighPoint Church in Lake Wales, Florida, and CityLight Church in Los Angeles, California. The coordinated launches represent the next evolution of church-based digital broadcasting, combining 24/7 internet radio, on-demand podcasts, live streaming, and Church Live—Godcaster’s new automated simulcast of Sunday morning services—into a unified, mobile-first experience.
CityLight LA launched its CityLight Digital Station, built on Godcaster’s new ChannelStreams Live platform. HighPoint Church launched Providence Voice, powered by Godcaster’s YourTown Live platform.
By leveraging Godcaster’s streaming and on-demand infrastructure, churches are no longer limited to Sunday mornings. Instead, they are building sustainable digital media outlets that serve their cities every day of the week. As part of the launch weekend, Adam Curry, Godcaster partner and co-inventor of podcasting, was invited to share his personal testimony during all three Sunday services at HighPoint Church.

Shine.FM/Chicago proudly dedicated The Ackerman Family Podcast Studio, named in honor of the Ackerman family, marking a significant expansion in multimedia storytelling and student media training at Olivet Nazarene University. The new studio, designed to support full video podcast production, allows Shine.FM and Olivet Media Group to create visually engaging content while equipping students with firsthand experience in modern broadcast and digital media.

“The Ackerman Family Podcast Studio represents both gratitude and vision,” said Brian McIntyre, Executive Director of Shine.FM and Olivet Media Group. “We are deeply thankful for the generosity of the Ackerman family and excited about how this space will serve our mission, our students, and our audiences for years to come.”

The studio’s inaugural production debuted in December with a special Christmas video podcast series featuring Viviana Perez, Spanish ministry director for Brilla.FM, alongside guest Dr. Wilfredo Canales. The series marked the first full video project produced in the new space and set the tone for its ministry and educational impact.

“This studio allows students to move from theory to practice,” McIntyre added. “They’re not just learning about media—they’re creating it.”
