WCVO/Columbus (104.9 the River) has announced the addition of Josh Pollock as River Morning Show producer. The show consists of PD Josh Hooper, Chad Bradley and Hannah Pfau, and was launched just last year in February.

Pollock serves as Social Media Director for The River, and his addition to the behind-the-scenes efforts of the River Morning Show will be invaluable, says Hooper: “JP is a problem-solver, a social media whiz and talented in countless other areas, which will help us more adequately handle phone calls, listener interactions on-air and online, and overall help the focus and quality of the show moving forward. JP is an incredible addition and I’m so excited for what he’s bringing to the table.”

Pollock shares, “It’s an exciting opportunity for me to continue to grow and develop while learning from three of the most talented people in the industry. I’m excited to partner with them to continue to make the River Morning Show the best it can be.”

Pollock officially started as Producer on February 16th. River Radio Ministries operates four signals in Central Ohio, including 104.9 in Columbus, 89.3 Newark, 90.9 Lancaster and 89.3 Chillicothe.

CeCe Winans, the female Gospel artist with the highest number of awards, has added another accolade to her list. Her latest single, “Goodness of God,” has reached the top spot on the Billboard Gospel Radio Chart. The song has already amassed over 48 million streams and 320 million video views.

“When the focus of ministry & music is to give people hope in a dying world, God steps in and does some amazing things,” says Winans.

Revival Music Company provider of radio promotion services to other record labels, announces they have formed a record label. RMC is not new to music production, Revival Music Company is primarily recognized for its radio promotion services, which are contracted by other record labels. One of their recent successes was obtaining the number one spot on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart in 2022 with Dante Bowe’s “Joyful,” released by Bethel Music.

In 2016, RMC President Terrance Howell established the company as part of his God-inspired mission to transition from being a police officer to pursuing a music ministry. Similarly, , Senior Vice President Jesse Wood left a career in finance in 2018 to follow his passion for ministry and music.

The National Religious Broadcasters has sent a letter to the NAB regarding a resolution that opposes the implementation of a performance right on AM/FM music use.

Troy Miller, President of the NRB, has stated that if the American Music Fairness or AMFM Act (S. 253) is passed by Congress, it would impose “unjustifiable and financially devastating” royalty fees on religious stations. According to Miller, the bill lacks provisions for religious station exemptions or a cap on higher royalty rates in the future. He believes that this would result in an unwarranted expansion of government involvement in the music licensing industry, on behalf of the three major record conglomerates.

In a letter, Miller highlights that Christian radio stations, including their members, play a unique role in serving the community both on and off the air. He cautions that the proposed performance tax could force stations to take drastic measures to cover the costs, including changing their format, cutting staff, reducing promotional activity, forgoing equipment upgrades, or even shutting down entirely.

Strong Tower Christian Media Stations WEEC/Dayton (Hope 100.7) and WFCJ/Dayton (93.7 The Light) joined forces on February 2-3, 2023 to find Child Champions (sponsors) for children living in extreme poverty, through the ministry OneChild.

According to Tracy Figley, President and CEO of Strong Tower Christian Media ”It’s an honor to partner with OneChild to give our listeners the opportunity to make a difference for someone in another country whom they’ve never met.  Only eternity will tell the impact they will have on these young children in desperate situations!”

Faron Dice, National Director for Radio and Artist Engagement at OneChild adds, “What an amazing event! I am so grateful for the talent, passion, and hard work of the entire Strong Tower Christian Media on-air team. We shared stories, shed a few tears, and celebrated… while children’s lives were being changed, one by one.”
