WCLQ/Wausau, WI (89Q) saw a record shattering fall pledge drive (Thanksgiving Sharathon) the week of November 15. WCLQ General Manager Coy Sawyer said, “we are adding staff and growing our outreach in North Central Wisconsin and our listeners stepped up with over 5,000 in gifts and pledges to ensure that growth vison. The goal was our largest increase to date and stretched our faith so it was encouraging to see us hit our goal early on Thursday.”
2022 Plans for 89Q include more hiring to facilitate the local on-air presence, local events, and building the new studio to mentor area high school and college students. “Our plan is to begin the program this spring or next fall. Once students are equipped, they will run the secondary stream and should we go HD, we will have that additional format run by the students.”

KVNE/Tyler is collecting donations during their annual holiday drive to benefit Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, who provides hygiene care packages for those experiencing homelessness. The goal is to collect supplies for 2,000 care packages by the Dec. 12 deadline.
Jennifer Bailey, KVNE Vice President of Marketing says, “With the pandemic there is an even greater need for the community for those who’ve been displaced, lost families, et cetera. Our goal is to bless that many people that have been struggling with homelessness in our partnership with Hiway 80 Rescue Mission,”
KKFS/Sacramento (103.9 The Fish) morning co-host Matt Bisiaux produced the “Day Before Thanksgiving Day Parade” for the 2nd year. Last year when all the parades were cancelled for Thanksgiving, Matt had a great idea to create one with a little “Radio Theater.”
KKFS APD/mornings Amanda Carroll tells HisAir. “It was so popular, we did it again this year and it has now become a Fish Sacramento tradition. I personally think it’s a work of radio art! We had many “floats” sponsored by our local clients, and midday host, Mike Allen on the field talking with our clients from the “parade route.”
