Congratulations to KXOJ/Tulsa who’s back on top at #1 in the latest Nielsen ratings released today. KXOJ has trended 5.7-6.3-6.6  AQH Share for Persons 12+, Mon-Sun 6AM-Mid.

WNFR/Port Huron (Hope FM) and WNFA/Port Huron (Thrive Radio) celebrate their “Gratitude Fall Fundraiser”  meeting their need and finishing at 105% of their goal.

“We don’t ever take for granted the amazing investment our  listeners make into our media organization and feel incredibly blessed by their generosity, especially with a tough economy and instability around the world .” says Station Director, Brian Smith.   “I cannot describe how humbled and blessed I feel to lead this team.  Their professionalism, love for community, compassion and serve first attitude is second to none.”

Sirius/XM The Message morning host Olivia Lane has signed her first record deal with BEC Recordings. 

Brandon Ebel, President and Founder of BEC Recordings, says, “I first learned of Olivia Lane when my friend and colleague Jessie Reeves (of the band KingsPorch) co-wrote her song ‘Woman at the Well.’ I immediately connected with the song’s memorable sound and was moved by Olivia’s deeply felt lyrics. My team and I are honored to partner with Olivia and are looking forward to releasing the next chapter of her very special music.”

The Singer-songwriter and TikTok sensation Lane joined the Message hosting the morning show in July this year, replacing Doug Hannah (now with Family Radio/Franklin) who exited after nearly 19 years.

Longtime WTGN/Lima, OH Station Manager Scott Young who announced in June this year that he would be retiring, is featured in a piece on local TV.  Young started on WTGN October 16, 1977. WTGN is holding an open house at the tomorrow (10/17).

Christmas music programming is right around the corner. PD’s and MD’s are asking “With so many versions, will we be playing the right Christmas songs? Are the Christmas standards from decades ago still evergreens and worth spinning?” 

Goodratings Strategic Services and TroyResearch are again fielding an annual Christmas Music Study for Contemporary Christian Stations. The 300-song list is from the most played 2022 Christmas spins on CCM stations. Available for fielding before Halloween. Stations can keep the survey active until Christmas or even until New Year’s.  The cost is $300.

HisAir FLASHBACK – 10-14-2020 – The Christian Radio & Records Industry is mourning the loss of Jay Swartzendruber who passed suddenly yesterday. Jay had a long history in the Christin Record industry including former editor at CCM Magazine and most recently copywriter at Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
