WGTS/Wash DC welcomes Todd Chobotar as its next Chief Administrative Officer. Chobotar is from Orlando, Florida, and will join the leadership team at Atlantic Gateway Communications, the parent company of WGTS 91.9, WGBZ 88.3, AllWorship, When We Pray, WGTS Classics, and Simple Truths for Life.

Chobotar most recently served as a consultant and then as CEO at “The Meaning Company,” a ghostwriting firm that serves Fortune 10 CEOs, baseball hall-of-famers, and other high-profile clients across entertainment, sports, finance, medicine, and philanthropy. Before that, he led AdventHealth Press, the publishing and communications arm of one of America’s largest healthcare companies.

“I’m honored to join Atlantic Gateway Communications and the award-winning team at WGTS,” said Chobotar. “This is an organization with a strong sense of purpose, a deep commitment to its listeners, and a remarkable ability to make a positive difference across the greater Washington, D.C., community. I’m excited to support this talented team, build on the solid foundation already in place, and help position the organization for continued growth and impact.”

AGC/WGTS President and CEO Kevin Krueger said, “Chobotar’s depth of experience in media and publishing will be a great asset to Atlantic Gateway Communications. His combination of leadership and creativity will help lead and grow our team and develop strategy for future initiatives that reach more people around Washington, D.C., and beyond.”

Chobotar replaces former CAO Kelly Carvalho, who left in May of this year to pursue another opportunity. Chobotar begins work at AGC/WGTS on October 26.

Premier Christian Radio/London is set to launch a nationwide DAB station. Premier Media is reportedly in advanced talks with Digital One to secure a national DAB licence for its Christian radio service. The station is currently available on DAB in London, Sky, Freeview and online.

Ofcom is understood to be expecting a licence application for consideration by its Radio Licensing Committee. Premier Media is owned by the Premier Christian Media Trust and funded through advertising, paid on-air ministries and listener donations.

Peter Kerridge, chief executive of Premier Media Group, said while the licence had not been formalised, “it was still going through” and the station was “on track to launch for 21 September”.

United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) has officially launched Life FM in Fiji, following three years of prayer, preparation and partnership.

UCB operates as part of a Christian media network reaching more than 30 countries across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Life FM Brand Ambassador Waisele Serevi says the new station is designed to be more than a radio service, serving as a platform to share the Christian message and positively impact lives.

“I believe Life FM 87.8 is much more than a radio station. It is an opportunity, it is a ministry, it is a mission field, and it is a platform through which the people of Fiji can hear the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.”

TWR (Trans World Radio) is commemorating a significant milestone today: the 50th anniversary of broadcasts from the Roumoules radio station. These broadcasts have enabled the gospel message to reach countless listeners across borders and barriers.

In 1960, TWR began airing from a 100-kilowatt shortwave transmitter in Monte Carlo. At that time, audio tapes had to be physically delivered to transmitter sites. On occasion, they even had to be smuggled across national borders to Monte Carlo for transmission back into the originating countries. This is considered TWR’s first transmitting site under the name Trans World Radio.
