Positive Life Radio/Walla Walla, WA listeners once again stepped up to feed hungry people across the Northwest with the Hands and Heart: Christmas in July Food Drive. Listener and volunteers at the 23rd annual event collected over 6,000 pounds of food and cash donations for local food banks at several different locations from Portland, Oregon to Lewiston, Idaho.
This community project is especially important as food banks across the United States are struggling to provide for their clients due to the lingering effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and inflation. The food donations provided by Positive Life Radio listeners will help replenish already low stocks and help support needy families in the Northwest.
“Christmas in July is our way to spotlight area food banks and organizations that feed hungry people,” says Positive Life Radio General Manager Chris Gilbreth. “When we can raise awareness of their need for food donations in the summer and help get them restocked, we call that a success!”
Positive Life Radio is a non-profit Christian radio network operating out of Walla Walla, Washington. They have multiple signals across the northwest and have been in operation for over 50 years. They believe in a ministry of creating, nurturing, and enduring friendships through active involvement in the local community, local and international humanitarian projects, and sharing encouraging music.
