TWR Women of Hope has named Miia Kallio its new global director, effective October 1, 2026. Kallio succeeds Susie Pek, who led the ministry for three and a half years and is transitioning to a new role within TWR.
TWR Women of Hope has introduced Miia Kallio as its new global director, effective Oct. 1, 2026. She succeeds Susie Pek, who has led the ministry for the past 3½ years and is transitioning into a new leadership role with TWR.
“It has been a privilege for me to lead TWR Women of Hope, and words fail to adequately express what it has meant to me,” Pek said. “As the Lord called me toward this new chapter, it led all of us into a season of prayer for the next leader of this ministry. I am so thankful he has answered that prayer and brought someone to lead this wonderful and deeply meaningful work: our own Miia Kallio.”
Pek noted that she recently attended a conference centered on Joshua 1:5 — “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you” — a passage she said captured the moment well. “Joshua walked and served closely alongside Moses throughout his ministry, and so has Miia walked alongside me,” she said.
Kallio’s journey with TWR Women of Hope began several years ago in Finland, where she served as national coordinator. She later served as substitute regional coordinator for Europe and CAMENA* before joining the global team as ministry developer for that same region.
Kallio said her heart is filled with gratitude as she steps into the new role and “stands on the shoulders of remarkable leaders” who shaped the ministry into the global movement it is today. “Our mission remains un-changed: to bring hope and healing in Jesus through prayer and Christian media to women everywhere,” she said. “Like Esther, I sense God’s calling for such a time as this, trusting that he equips and appoints each person for their season of service. As a leader, I hope to strengthen the bonds that connect our global teams and shine a light on the true heroines of this ministry, the women serving faithfully on the front lines every day so that others may encounter the hope of Christ.”
Along the way, Kallio has actively participated in conferences around the world, deepening her understanding of the ministry and growing in her love for the work, its leaders and the women it serves. She and her husband live in Finland, where they are raising their four children.
She will continue to lead from Finland in her new role.
TWR President Andy Schick shared the following about Kallio: “When I first met Miia, there was something very specific that struck me — her attitude toward leadership, that it doesn’t flourish because of formal authority but rather on shared vision and relationship, on togetherness and unity when things are at their toughest. She tends to shine the spotlight on the people around her and on the women we are all here to serve, and that is exactly the posture this ministry needs. I look forward to seeing how TWR Women of Hope continues to flourish under her leadership.”

Hope Channel International is suing Hope Media Group, operator of WayFM and KSBJ/Houston, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition over use of the “Hope” name. Hope Channel says the similar branding could confuse consumers and is seeking damages, an injunction, and cancellation of Hope Media Group’s trademark.
Hope Media Group denies the claims, arguing the marks and services are different, have coexisted for years without known confusion, and that Hope Channel waited too long to act. Hope Media Group has also filed a separate lawsuit in Texas seeking a ruling that its branding does not infringe Hope Channel’s trademarks.
