Effective immediately WVRY/Waverly, TN (FM 105.1) has ceased operations. WVRY-FM, a charting Southern Gospel Station licensed to serve Middle Tennessee from Waverly is a 50,000 watt FM commercially licensed station . In August 2016 the sale of WVRY-FM was completed from JWL Communications to MP Media, LLC of Tennessee. WVRY-FM was once the flagship of Salem Communications Solid Gospel Radio Network and in recent years has changed ownership several times.
The station went dark last week and will return to the air with new call signs, transmitter, antenna structure and a new secular format to serve Middle Tennessee in September.
Rev. Steve Harling, a long-time pastor and missionary leader, officially assumed the role of President at Reach Beyond last Thursday, Sept. 1. In May this year Wayne Pederson announced he would be stepping down as president of the global media and medical ministry headquartered in Colorado Springs Reach Beyond. Wayne and wife, Willi, will be moving into a new phase of life, spending more time with family, serving on ministry boards, and focusing on a recently launched initiative called the International Day for the Unreached.
National Religious Broadcasters will host a debate, “Evangelicals Debate the 2016 Election: Trump, Clinton, or Other,” with four evangelical leaders at the National Press Club (529 14th Street NW) in Washington, D.C., Friday, September 16, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
