WPLL/Gainsville (106.9 The Pulse) has switched formats to mainstream country. Owner Marc Radio agreed to drop the format in a deal not to compete with Radio Training Network.  RTR is purchasing WDVH/Trenton (101.7 west of Gainsville) and will join “The Joy FM” as the deal closes.  WPLL PD Greg Cassidy tell HisAir.Net, ” It’s been a pleasure to be a part of 106.9 The Pulse for the past three years. I never dreamed I’d even live in Florida and now I know why everybody comes here! Thanks to all of our listeners and their support over the past several years. Hopefully they will find one of The JOY FM signals which will give them the encouragement and music they love”.  

Christian stations KTWG and KSTO in Guam mistakenly conducted an unscheduled test of the Emergency Alert Broadcast System in the middle of tense moments with North Korea. Homeland Security/Office in Guam says “the unauthorized test was not connected to any emergency, threat or warning.” CNN filed a report here
