Salem has announced that Val Carolin has been appointed General Manager of the Greenville market replacing Joey Hudson. Hudson is exiting as the market General Manager to become the GM of The Mike Gallagher Show. Carolin has spent over 20 years in Atlanta radio, including management positions with iHeart Radio, Radio One, and most recently as GSM at Cumulus-Atlanta.

Allen Power, Senior Vice President – Broadcast Operations, said, “Val’s deep experience in all levels of media (local and national, terrestrial and digital) positions him well to lead our growing Greenville cluster. This expertise combined with his excitement for the Upstate is a winning combination as our next General Manager. We are also grateful that Joey Hudson will continue as a local ambassador and talk show host for 94.5 The Answer.”

Sirius XM and Gaither Music Group have partnered for a special four-day event—Bill Gaither’s 4th of July Gaither Homecoming Weekend Marathon.  Starting July 1st through July 4th, the enLighten channel (channel #65) will feature Homecoming artists and songs. “What a thrill to join hands with Sirius XM for this holiday weekend,” stated Gaither.  “The reach of the format is quite impressive, and we are able to hear it wherever we travel.  Radio was so important to me and our family when we were kids.  And now to have the capability of reaching around the entire globe with the message of good news is truly a godsend.  Radio was our lifeline then, and it is still a miraculous lifeline today.”

The WBGL/Champaign Morning Show with Johnathon & Lindsey went on the road again this summer broadcasting live from 6 local parks! The 10th annual Backyard Bounce was a completely FREE event with giant inflatables for kids. In addition to the free fun, donations were accepted to aid Compassion International. Over $2,700 was donated to build safe playground equipment for nine of Compassion’s Church Partners in El Salvador.
