Industry News Bits 5-3-17

KLTY/Dallas unveiled a new logo today (see left). KLTY PD Mike Prendergast told HisAir.Net, “I’m excited for this time in the station’s life. It’s a new day. It’s a new beginning”. GM Jeff Mitchell says, “After over 30 years, we felt it was time to freshen up the logo and give it meaning. We believe the new logo is a representation of what we aspire to be as a radio station. We are thrilled with the final product.”

Salem announced a new morning lineup on NewsTalk KCBQ/San Diego (AM 1170 The Answer). On Monday, May 15th, the station will expand The Hugh Hewitt morning show by an additional hour, airing it from 3am to 7am PT. It will also add Mike Gallagher, live from 7am to 9am PT. The new lineup will provide a one-two punch in morning drive, using two of Salem’s top rated hosts.

On May 13th KLJJ-LP/Houston (101.5) celebrates its first year on the air. Congratulations to operator Mark Green!

WAFJ/Augusta is readjusting its on-air schedule. In the process they are in need of a morning co-hots. If interested check the listing here.  

On Thursday, May 4, millions will assemble at thousands of local National Day of Prayer events across the nation, taking time out of their daily schedules to intercede on behalf of their communities, their nation, and their leaders.

The theme for the 2017 National Day of Prayer is “For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us …Forgive Us …Heal Us!” which is inspired by Daniel 9:19. More from the NRB here
