May 3, 2017 marks over 9,200 recorded programs and 35 years of radio for “Joni and Friends”—the daily 4:00 inspirational program with Joni Eareckson Tada—now airing on over 1,000 outlets nationwide. A diving accident in 1967 left Joni a quadriplegic.  She wrote of her experience in her best-selling biography, Joni.  In 1979 she founded Joni and Friends to accelerate Christian ministry in the disability community throughout the world. Joni says, “Now 35 years later—to my amazement—I am still sharing fresh lessons from this wheelchair and from the Word of God.”
