The KAXL/Bakersfield (88.3 Life FM) Afternoon Joy Ride with Matt Pelishek and Aaron Perlman (at left) was voted as ‘Best Radio Personality’ in their market. The 2019 ‘Best Of’ awards are an annual awards that nearly every business in the county are a part of. The Afternoon Joy Ride beat out 10 other nominees, including the morning show at the local #1 legacy station. Matt and Aaron are known for not only bringing a unique style to the air waves, but are engaging in the community on a regular basis doing everything from emceeing fundraisers, to hosting listener get-togethers to play laser tag. Congratulations!

Centricity artist Lauren Daigle and a 12 member tie-die band, “broke out her Cajun accent” Saturday at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. “Now, I’m from Louisiana, from Baton Rouge and Lah-fay-ette,” she said. “A little place down na block.” Reviews stated “the vibe received was that Lauren was a welcome new discovery to many at the Fair Grounds.”
She offered a locally emphasized explanation of how she wrote “This Girl,” a track off 2018’s “Look Up Child.”
