On April 4 and 5, 1,449 listeners donated more than $407,000 to WMIT/Ashville (106.9 The Light) during its bi-annual fundraising campaign, Impact Days. As a listener supported ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, donations fund the station’s support of ministry outreach and daily operations. More than 200 listeners committed to become “vision partners” in support of the station’s anniversary. In honor of their 55 years of ministry, these partners have begun donating $55 per month. “We praise God for His abundant blessings,” said John Owens, general manager of Blue Ridge Broadcasting. These donations provide 106.9 The Light with the financial ability to continue carrying out their mission of leading people into a personal, dynamic relationship with Christ, and encouraging them to grow in their faith and serve others. “We’re grateful for our listeners who chose to support God’s work through this ministry,” said Jim Kirkland, executive director of Blue Ridge Broadcasting. “All credit and glory goes to our Lord.” 106.9 The Light will give ten percent of the donations to Heart for Lebanon, a ministry that provides Christcentered
support and programs to the marginalized, including refugee children from Syria.
