WRVL/Lynchburg (The Journey) has awarded their latest Journey Hometown Hero to Tiffany Bradbury. The Journey invites listeners to nominate those that might be overlooked for the contributions they make to their community and families. Tiffany works with Roanoke Fire And EMS and is the person that helps select fire fighters and ems personnel for awards. So she is never recognized. Until now! Kenny and Brittany from The Morning Journey showed up and surprised Tiffany. Firefighters and ems personnel were on hand to celebrate Tiffany. Watch here.
Reporting fourth quarter 2018 and full year 2018 financial data, Salem Media Group says its Q4 total revenue was consistent at $67.2 million. In the broadcast division, net broadcast revenue was basically flat at $51.1 million, however same station net broadcast revenue increased 1.9% to $50.3 million. For the full year of 2018, total revenue decreased 0.4% to $262.8 million from $263.7 million in 2017. In the broadcast division, net broadcast revenue increased 1.2% and same station net broadcast revenue was up 1.8% to $195.2 million from $191.7 million in 2017.
HisAir.Net is sad to report KELB/Lake Charles (Eternal Life Broadcasting) owner Barry McCall has passed. McCall tragically died earlier this week after falling from one of the radio station towers. Lake Charles TV station KPLC has a story here.
Also, TWR missionary to Slovakia Lynn Plett, lost her grueling battle with cancer. She was the mother of three children.
