In celebration of Mr. Graham’s life and ministry, Moody Radio aired, Ambassador of the Gospel: A Tribute to the Life & Ministry of Dr. Billy Graham, an hour-long special program, across its owned and operated stations and select affiliates Wednesday 3/21. It features segments from crusades and conferences, messages delivered on the campus of Moody Bible Institute and interviews by Moody Radio staff. It can also be streamed online for free at www.moodyradio.org/specials. Moody’s tribute web page features Moody Radio’s Ambassador of the Gospel: A Tribute to the Life & Ministry of Billy Graham, select sermons, and a video of his 1986 message at Moody’s Founder’s Week.


KSBJ/Houston Production director Sterling Tarrant has produced a special radio tribute honoring Rev Graham for the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. Here is the link to a sample of the special. 


The Now Newsletter reports Bruce Munsterman-led Houston Christian Broadcasters has acquired an an AM, FM and future translator in northwestern Louisiana. HCB has 42 stations in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The new station is in Springhill, along the Texas/Arkansas border. KTKC/1460am (1,000 watts daytime, 220 watts at night). Country KTKC-FM, a Class C2 at 92.9. The application for a new translator at 107.7 is on file. The flagship is Christian teaching KHCB-FM/105.7 in Houston. 


KZTH/Ponca City (The House FM) and KLVV/OKC (My Praise FM) will work toward meeting their 100 percent listener-supported operating budget with their 26th annual Pledge Drive from Feb. 27 to March 2. For this year’s Pledge Drive, the networks are partnering with Children’s Cup in order to feed children for a month in poverty-stricken Honduras.  For every $40-per-month pledge to the networks, a generous group of donors has agreed to make a contribution to Children’s Cup to feed a hungry child in Honduras for one month.

“Donations come from across the country and across the world to our networks,” Doyle Brewer, Founder and CEO of The House FM and My Praise FM, said. “We are grateful to each and every listener that pledges and donates to us each year to keep our stations on the air.” While the radio networks began as a dream of Brewer’s 25 years ago, it has since expanded to 18 different frequencies across Oklahoma and Kansas. Through online streaming, the networks’ mobile device application and other avenues of listening the stations’ audience has grown worldwide.
