Last week the KLTY/Dallas morning show with Frank, Starlene, & Hudson (and Gail Lightfoot) posted on its Facebook page that “Someone on the show is leaving. Friday morning all 4 read resignation letters and asked listeners who they thought was the one leaving. This morning it was announced traffic reporter Gail Lightfoot was retiring after a long successful radio career. HisAir wishes Gail the very best!
The Family Radio Network based in Wisconsin is purchasing WDRK/Cornell, WI from the University of Wisconsin. WDRK is a 25kw Class C3 at 99.9 serving the Chippewa Valley.
The new owners, the Family Radio Network, will start broadcasting content to be introduced in the new year.
Congratulations to Bill Sammons and the crew at WKNZ/Harrington (The Bridge) who celebrate its 10th year on the air TODAY.
This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on January 25, 2008. The new station was assigned the call letters WKNZ by the FCC on June 9, 2008. In July 2009 the station unveiled its new name, logo and slogan: 88.7fm The Bridge, Connecting, Strengthening. Originally planned to launch in the first quarter of 2010, WKNZ began regular broadcast operations on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at 10:00 a.m.
Christian Radio vet Jake Sommers checks in with HisAir. Due to the sale of KKGM/Ft Worth (1630AM His Truth-Our Hope) he will lose his position as Production Director after 19 months. On December 2, 2020, iHeartMedia announced that it’s acquiring KKGM and sister station KHVN from Mortenson Broadcasting for $950,000; including its respective translators 92.1 K221GV and 95.3 K237HD.

KSWP/KAVX/Lufkin will start airing its “Sounds of Christmas” this Saturday, December 12th. After a year of complete uncertainty, it is special to share hope and the reason for the season with listeners of all ages. With the pending sale of KKGM/Ft Worth personalities John Roberts and Cami Bradley will end their Sunday radio show on KKGM AM 1630 on Dec. 27. The station has been sold and its new format will be “all-news.” John Roberts and Cami Bradley continue to host on their online station KATZ Radio.
