The GMA Foundation announced donations of $100,000 for its Disaster Relief Fund to support artists, musicians and crew members whose livelihoods have been devastated by the pandemic’s impact on touring. The funding is made possible in partnership with EMF (K-LOVE and Air-1). Additionally, a matching gift of up to $75,000 has been offered, allowing members and friends of the GMA to double their money in support of the Christian and Gospel music community. GMA partners including the Cantinas Arts Foundation, the Gospel Music Trust Fund and GMA board members have also contributed to the relief efforts. Once pledges are matched, a total of $250,000 will be available to qualified applicants.

“Special thanks to our generous partners for recognizing the need and stepping up to make a difference. The GMA is honored to serve our music community in such a tangible way during this challenging season.” says GMA President, Jackie Patillo. “I invite our GMA Members and others to take advantage of this opportunity and make a donation toward this matching fund. Together we can take care of our own and help ease the burden of struggling families.”

Longtime Premier Christian Radio presenter Rick Easter announces he is exiting after 25 years on the air due to cutbacks. Rick is the longest serving broadcaster at the station having joined in 1995. Easter hosted the lunchtime show including the ‘Worship Hour’, ‘Hour of Prayer For Healing’ and ‘Friday Lite’. Rick has continued to work while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for Multiple Myeloma cancer and Amyloidosis since 2012.

Rick says “I am saddened not to be part of the ministry of Premier any longer but understand the reasons behind my redundancy although I was not surprised. I was hoping to finish out my radio career with the station with just four years to go to my official retirement date. “I am going to miss the relationship I had with my listeners and have valued their loyalty and prayer support through some difficult times. “I will take the opportunity of having a break until the new year and then consider my next move which will include writing a book about my experiences and how God has been an amazing strength.”
