The WRVL/Lynchburg (The Journey) morning show hosted by Kenny Robinson and Brittany Minard (pictured at left) wins Best Radio DJ’s for the 2nd year in a row. Over 200,000 votes were cast thru Lynchburg Living Magazine’s website.
Second place went to the morning show on a heritage Country station and third place was the long running morning show on the local news/talk station.
The special “Best Of” issue will be released January 1st and Kenny and Brittany will be featured again this year.
Religious broadcast ministry Edgewater Broadcasting is exiting the industry. Edgewater is donating 10 FM translators to Amarillo-based nonprofit broadcast ministry Radio by Grace Inc. In addition they are selling an FM translator in Kalispell, MT to EMF and another translator in Missoula to Montana Broadcasting.
Edgewater Broadcasting, based in Twin Falls, ID filed for 1700 FM translators in 2003 and distributes FreeFM and FreedomRadio on stations across the U.S. In 2016 the company began divesting translator stations.
Jay DeMarcus has launched a new Christian music label Red Street Records. Also announced the appointment of industry veteran Don Koch as general manager as well as announcing the inaugural signings to the new label: female vocalist Lauren James and iconic vocal group, Avalon. Both artists performed at an event, giving the invitation-only VIP audience full of industry and media a sneak-peak at the first offerings set to arrive from the new label.
A half-hour long weekly radio show on WFAX/Wash DC (AM 1220 and FM 100.7) adds the new S&G Racial Reconciliation Radio Show to their lineupSaturdays at 2:30 PM hosted by Pastor and Gospel singer Tom Sligh and racial reconciliation missionary/author Doug Gentil.
