Faith Radio’s WNWW/Hartford (AM 1290) is now broadcasting on Educational Media Foundation’s (EMF) Hartford, CT translator at 94.1 FM. The partnership between Faith Radio, a broadcast ministry of University of Northwestern, and EMF is through the kindness and generosity of EMF leadership.

Faith Radio’s Senior VP for Media, Jason Sharp stated, “We at Faith Radio deeply appreciate the kindness of the EMF board and trustees!” He went on to say, “This 32-watt translator will have a potential audience of 890,00 people and give Faith Radio listeners an opportunity to listen with an FM quality signal in Hartford 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.” Currently, WNWW AM 1290 is licensed by the FCC for 500 watts during the daylight hours, but only 11 watts at night.

WFAX/Falls Church, VA is now on the air in Northern Virginia at 100.7 FM. WFAX has served the Washington DC metro area at 1220AM since 1948.

KTSU/Houston has cancelled Gospel singer Kim Burrell’s program “Bridging The Gap” effective immediately. Fox News reports “Gospel singer Kim Burrell was given the boot from her radio show “Bridging the Gap” days after giving a sermon about her anti-homosexuality stance at her Houston, Texas church.  Texas Southern University’s KTSU-FM did not give any reason for axing the program, but many have said the timing of the firing with Burrell’s controversial sermon must be more than a coincidence.”

Burrell was scheduled to perform with Pharrell Williams on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, but she was uninvited by DeGeneres after a tape of Burrell preaching at the Love & Liberty Fellowship Church circulated online. During her sermon, Burrell referred to the “homosexual spirit” and called specific homosexual acts “perverted.” Burrell later defended her comments in a since-deleted Facebook Live video saying said she would not apologize.
