Industry News Bits 1-2-19

-Hope all had a great New Year and that 2019 is off to a great start! Here’s the latest news in Christian Radio & Records Industry.


Amanda Carroll has joined mainstream AC KYMX/Sacramento (Mix 96) for mornings. Amanda will be teamed with Darik Kristofer. Amanda was most recently heard on Christian FM and prior to that middays at KLOVE. 


Evan Carlson was appointed by the board of directors as the 3rd generation president and chief operating officer of Family Life Communications, the parent ministry of Family Life Radio and Intentional Living. Carlson takes over for his father, Dr. Randy Carlson, who is moving into the role of chief executive officer. “As chairman and CEO,” Carlson said, “I will focus on growing the Intentional Living ministry and sharing this powerful life-changing message of hope, peace and freedom with even more people – on-air and in person.”

Evan Carlson most recently served the ministry as executive vice president and brings a passion for Christ, years of ministry leadership, education, a vision for the future, and a love for people to his new role. “This is a strategic time for our ministry,” he said. “As technology evolves, it provides us the opportunity to bring Gods Word to life for countless numbers of individuals around the globe.”


WCTL/Erie sister station WZTE will launch a new talk format today. TalkErie.com will broadcast programs from the Salem Radio Network.  Station Manager Joel Natalie will host a local afternoon program.

TalkErie.com can be heard on FM 105.9/W290BI for Erie city and the north suburbs, FM 103.3/W277DS for Erie County south of I-90, and AM 1530/WZTE during daytime hours throughout the region. Listeners can also utilize the station’s content-rich website at www.talkerie.com 


Justin Vander Veur has been named station manager at KGLE/Glendive, MT. Justin, his wife, and son come to KGLE from the Dallas Fort Worth area.  Justin previously worked in Christian Radio in Pennsylvania.


Monday 12/31 KADI/Springfield aired a memorial show hosted by station owner R.C. Amer remembering PD/morning host Rod Kittleman. Rod passed last Friday 12/28. Rod served at KADI over 23 years. Old friends and familiar voices from KADI shared stories about and memories of Rod on the Radio. You can listen to that show here.
