Glenn Goodwin “Dreaming Big”

When is the last time that you brought your staff together, and told them that it’s time to Dream Big?

What if you did that, then asked them this question: ‘if we could do ANYTHING new and different, no matter of financial limitations, time constraints, amount of effort, etc., what ‘Could’ we do that would reach more people for Christ, or better serve our community, or meet a need that often goes unmet?’

Tell them that the Sky is the Limit, and to think HUGE.  And let their creative juices start flowing.  Tell them that no idea is too outrageous in this Dreaming Big session.

I’m going to venture to say that there will be one or two ideas that will shine through, that could actually be achieved as a team, also while being impactful, and hopefully in some ways life changing.

You might also be surprised that some of the great ideas may come from those on staff that don’t usually get to speak into the creative or outreach process…., such as the office admin, or possibly even an intern.

One thing that I know is that everyone has valuable ideas.  And we all know that None of us can do as much alone as we can accomplish all together.  We are created for community, and as a community we will impact our communities in a much more impactful and deeper way.

This next section is a note of encouragement to all of you working at a very small station, where perhaps you alone, or with only one or two others is trying to do the work of many….   You are awesome, you are a warrior, you ARE making an impact!  It can be so difficult when you see other organizations with so many talents and resources, seemingly accomplishing so much more than you can ever do with your small staff.  But please know that you are doing the work that God has called you to do at such a time as this!

If you are looking for ideas or want to collaborate with others, I encourage you to reach out to other small market stations and network network network.  Bounce ideas off each other.  You can create a team of idea makers with others in a similar situation as your own.  Also, try your hardest to get to CMB’s Momentum. Obviously, the networking at Momentum is extremely valuable.  And if you are thinking, ‘it just isn’t in the budget’, reach out to the staff at CMB and find out about their scholarships, which might make attending Momentum a reality.

So don’t forget, as we get in the routine of performing our daily tasks, we sometimes forget to dream big, and ask those ‘What If’ questions.  Many ideas will not pan out, but there could be some gold nuggets that come out that would never present themselves otherwise.

Dream Big today my friend, Glenn Goodwin
