George Rath Has Passed

HisAir.Net is sorry to report KLOVE news anchor George Rath has passed away.  He passed away last night after a rotator cuff surgery. George was 62.

George is remembered by friends and co-workers:

KLOVE air personality JD Chandler
“George was one of those guys you felt you knew, even before you met him. You hardly ever caught him without a smile on his face. His absence here, means that he is now present with the Lord. He will be greatly missed by us all.”

KKSF/Sacramento morning news personality Charlee Simons
“I am so glad to have had him for a friend for so many years. He truly was one of the great ones, one of the real ones. He definitely jumped to the front of the line, though, and got into heaven before the rest of us! I love you George, and looking forward to the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet we’ll finally have time to get to on the other side.”

Creative COO Bill Scott
“He loved Radio, family and friends. George was a buddy to everyone he met. I’m a better man for knowing George. George loved Jesus!”

Independent Record Promoter Terrance Howell
“I’m so sad. “George was such an awesome friend, brother, & encourager. Truly one of a kind. He will be greatly missed. Until we meet again in heaven. I love you brother.❤️

KLOVE Morning personality Skip Mahaffey
“A beautiful man who loved the Lord…he will be missed.”

KLOVE Afternoon personality Scott Smith
“I am in shock that George is gone! We have spent several years working together and he quickly became one of my best friends. George was one of the most kind hearted and jovial people you’d ever want to meet. He said although he had worked in radio for years, none were more precious than the years he spent working at K-LOVE, because he got to share his faith. Losing a friend like George leaves a hole in your heart, I am comforted knowing that I will see George again one day, until then I will relish the time that God gave me with him. Whether it was cheering on his favorite sports teams, loving his family or volunteering his time at church, George lived his life with passion!”

Air Personality Brant Hansen
“George was an encourager. Sometimes, I’d walk out of the studio feeling overmatched by my job. And he would say the most life-giving things, pushing me to keep talking about God’s grace. It was always about grace with him. And laughter. Those two things so often go together, and George personified it.”

KLOVE personality Larry Wayne
“For a guy who modeled being Christlike to so many, he now knows more than we what it is like to be near Him. We will all miss George’s laugh, his tender heart. But more than anything.. Jesus was the constant in his life.”

Please keep Georges family and friends in your prayers during this time.

  • Omgosh. I just personally had rotator cuff surgery (4th one). I have listened to Klove to help me thru it. May God bless George in his new? Heavenly home and his family, friends, Klove family and fans. Please play his voice for us. It feels ripped from us. Thank you so much.

  • My morning’s have not been the same. My morning commute was my pleasure and I always made sure I spent extra time just to hear him make my Day! And always gave me the extra push to get to work at 4 am in the morning…. My heart is saddened but I know God has a new Angel to watch over me .
