Eric & Heather Join WPER
The nationally known on-air team of Eric Calhoun and Heather Shelley will soon be doing afternoons at Positive Alternative Radio’s WPER/Fredericksburg, serving the Fredericksburg-Richmond area of Virginia, General Manager Frankie Morea has announced.
Eric and Heather previously served together as morning co-hosts on Educational Media Foundation’s Air-1 national network. Eric and Heather joined Air1 for mornings in April 2015. Previously they hosted mornings on WRCM/Charlotte (New Life 91.9) and WMHK/Columbia (89.7) prior to the sale to EMF.
“We are so happy to welcome Eric & Heather back to a community-focused radio setting where they can make a tremendous impact on people’s lives with the Gospel,” Morea said. “The WPER listening family will love them, I can’t wait!”
Eric and Heather will immediately begin working on getting to know the local market and putting together the new afternoon show, set to debut after Labor Day. Eric is eager to connect with friends new and old.
“I couldn’t be happier to become part of the PAR family,” Eric said. “This is a real homecoming for me because I’ve had the privilege of working with Frankie before. It’s wonderful to now be part of an organization that has grown and developed so much over the years.”
Heather is looking forward to her new role, which will include helping with WPER’s social media effort.
“It already feels like home,” Heather said. “I am looking forward to being able to directly connect with the community.”
