Doug Smith To Retire
After 45 years in Christian radio, Doug Smith has decided to retire at the end of this year. Doug has served as station manager for KFNW/Fargo (Life 97.9) since 2018. Prior to that role, Doug managed Northwestern Media’s KNWS/Waterloo (Life 101.9) beginning in 1999.
Doug’s history in Christian radio began in college where he worked for WCSG in Grand Rapids. His career also includes WFUR in Grand Rapids, WPHN in Gaylord, MI, and a long stretch at WFRN in Elkhart, IN (1979 – 1996).
“It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve as a Station Manager within Northwestern Media for the past 22 years.” says Doug.
Doug and his wife Margie have set a retirement date of December 31, 2021.
