Salem Media announced today that it is promoting industry veteran John Gallagher from its Little Rock cluster where he has served as General Manager to Chicago where he will serve in the same capacity. The change takes place effective January 1, 2023.


Hundreds of food insecure families in West Virginia will enjoy a brighter holiday, thanks to a WPJY/Parkersburg, WV (Walk FM) food drive for Old Man Rivers Mission and Mardel Christian & Education Store.  Listeners donated more than 500 food items and $3,900 to help the mission.

Karen Peck & New River, a Gospel music group signed to Daywind Records, have received a GRAMMY® nomination for their full-length studio album “2:22.” The album, which was produced by Wayne Haun and released on February 22nd, 2022, is a collection of songs that explore a range of emotions including hope, sorrow, grief, joy, and faith. Karen Peck & New River have established themselves as a leading force in Gospel music and the GRAMMY® nomination for “2:22” is a testament to their talent and hard work.

Karen Peck, commenting on the nomination of 2:22 for a GRAMMY® award, expressed her gratitude and honor at the recognition. She stated that the songs on the album reflect their spiritual journey over the past few years and hope that the GRAMMY® platform will provide an opportunity for others to hear the message of hope and encouragement through Jesus Christ.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) is appealing to a Washington federal appeals court to overturn a decision by the Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) to increase radio streaming royalty rates. The NAB is challenging the evidence used to set the same rate for simulcasts as custom radio. SoundExchange is also appealing the CRB decision, claiming that the Board’s arguments for decreasing rates are not valid.


Brad Kelly, Managing Partner at Nielsen Audio, is leaving the company as part of a management restructuring under the new ownership of Evergreen Coast Capital, Brookfield Business Partners, and other equity partners. Kelly’s departure is set to take effect on January 13, 2023. Nielsen was acquired by Evergreen Coast Capital and Brookfield Business Partners for $16 billion in October this year.
