The Rock Radio Network, based in Puerto Rico, has experienced substantial damage by Hurricane Fiona at their San Juan station WIVV.

“The station in San Juan and all the staff didn’t suffer any calamities. Yes, we were without electricity and water for a few days but other than that the San Juan station is running smoothly,” said Rock Radio Network coordinator Elizabeth Castro. “But the scenario is very different for our station (CBS) in the South. It was hit hard with flooding and we still don’t know the status of the inside of the building, since the water has not receded and there’s no way we can go into the building.”

The Rock Radio Network is a 6-station AM and FM radio network out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It broadcasts Christian biblical teaching in a bilingual format. The Rock consists of the stations WBMJ / W258DT in San Juan, WIVV / W280GC in Vieques, and WCGB / W293DP in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico. The Rock is owned and operated by Calvary Evangelistic Mission, Inc.

No more dueling music charts soon as airplay monitoring service Mediabase has formed a new partnership with entertainment industry data company Luminate starting Dec 2022. The new partnership puts an end to BDS data.

Prior to most recently being known as MRC Data, Luminate was known as Nielsen Music. Almost all top tier entertainment companies are clients of the music and entertainment analytics organization, which runs Billboard’s charts.

“Mediabase has proven itself to be the most trusted and referenced radio data provider in today’s fast-moving, ever-changing music industry,” Luminate CEO Rob Jonas said in a release. “At Luminate, we pride ourselves in being able to provide our clients – whether they be major record labels, tech companies, film studios, TV networks or indie music powerhouses – with the absolute best information they need to operate and grow their businesses. This new partnership allows us to do just that.”

“This new strategic partnership allows us the opportunity to be innovative in our approach to radio monitoring and to further ours and Luminate’s positions as undisputed experts in music data,” Mediabase President/CEO Philippe Generali added.
